a Simple Confession

***edited to add - I'm sorry! I should have mentioned I didn't take those birdy pictures! *smiles*
I have a confession to make, I hope you don't lose all respect for me when I admit this but I'm not a huge fan of exercise. I guess I'm just your basic lazy person. I know all about the health benefits, etc but still I have never managed to establish a regular exercise routine. I have good intentions but rarely follow thru. Once again I'm trying to change that. A dear friend named Tracy recently bought a new piece of exercise equipment and challenged me to matching her in exercise time or atleast matching half of her time. Being a closet competitive person this was just what I needed to get my ever enlarging bee-hind in gear. My dear sweet Mr Darcy cleared out some room in our catch-all enclosed carport for my treadmill and I started using it Monday.

I managed 30+ minutes for three days in a row now and I'm so proud of myself. Despite the bone chilling cold of the uninsulated, unheated carport and seeing my breath I hung in there. Another confession, it wasn't so bad! I could do this regularly but whatever mechanism that's in my brain that stops me from doing it will have to be disconnected first *smiles*

This beauty is what I saw when I happened to glance out the back door while walking

And I saw one of these too along with three others that I can't identify. All were a blessing to me, sort of a little reward for my efforts enduring the cold and overcoming my laziness in order to love myself. That's how I'm looking at it, this exercise business, it's a manifestation of loving myself enough to do what will make me stronger and healthier. A Simple Abundance moment

Oh girlfriend I KNEW we were sisters!!!! I don't enjoy exercising either....actually kind of "hate" it...eeeek did I just say that?!?! In the last several years though my eating and non-exercising has caught up with me and I desperately need to lose some weight. I don't know if a challenge from someone would even do it! Sad I know! I MUST get the right mind-set to do some kind of exercise most every day! We got the Wii fit the other weekend and I can't even seem to do it regularly! I will be trying my best to get into some kind of routine also and I wish you the best of luck with it! Congratulations on your 30 minutes each day! Oh, and those beautiful little birdies were a definite plus to see.♥

Good for you, Kitty! I hate exercising too...why in the world would we want to make ourselves sweat? LOL

We see a lot of cardinals and blue jays here in NC. If you post the pics of the other birds, I'll bet someone could identify them for you.

I really don't know anyone that loves to exercise...at least no one that's brave enough to admit it. I hate it. It's always nagging at me...need to exercise, need to exercise, etc. Good for you! Now can you motivate me?

Good for you-I had a treadmill in my garage for years, and it kept collecting dust, then we sold it at a garage sale this past summer...I do walk, but at my old age, walking isn't enough anymore, I just don't feel like doing the exercise thing that much either, I want to be thinner, but I don't want to work that HARD!!

I'm sooo proud of you! Way to go friend!

I don't particularly mind exercising but only if I have a partner. It's boring on your own. I used to have a walking partner and come rain or shine, we met at 6:00am 3 days a week. It was great and it forced me to exercise. Boy was I in great shape back then.

Keep up the good work and keep us posted on your progress.

Oh my those birds are gorgeous. What a great reward.

No respect lost for you on this end! I'm in the same boat! I DO NO LIKE to exercise in any way. However, we are working towards purchasing some sort of exercise equipment for our family as we all could use it.

Good job with you on the treadmill for 3 days in a row! That's inspiring!

Hi Kitty, Those pictures of the two birds are stunning! You could frame them, they are amazing! Good luck on the treadmill! I find EVERY excuse in the book NOT to exercise! LOL! I've got to do better! Now, you've inspired me! :)

THANK YOU so much for the award below. I am getting caught up from my "life imposed" break last week! So I am sorry I am just now responding! That was so sweet of you to pass it on to me and I am humbled! You certainly deserve it! I enjoy your blog! :)

Came over from Susie's to assure you, you don't have the ugliest blog.. hee hee. Look how gorgeous those birds show up against the black - amazing. Well, if you've read my blog at all the last few weeks, you'll see I started exercising as well. I had to...I was gaining weight and still wanted to eat. :) So now I have gone at least 4-5 days - and haven't lost anything...grrr, but do think I am toning, so am sticking with that and the reality that I can still eat my choc. chip cookies and at least not gain. :)
